Video, 5'-10' Blacklight explores the conditions of visibility and emergence through an embodied encounter with light. In the video, a figure paints taut strings that become visible only under ultraviolet illumination, gradually revealing a suspended geometric structure within darkness. The act of painting transforms the unseen into spatial form, positioning the body as both agent and medium of perception. Through this process, the work examines how light constructs and limits what can be seen, invoking questions of representation, materiality, and presence. Residual pigments scattered across the ground mark the traces of making, suggesting visibility as a temporal and relational state rather than a fixed condition. |
